PJV, Education, Hainan and Closing of the pre-capitular sessions (Sisters)

On Friday, June 21, the capitular sisters met online to continue sharing reactions to the various reports. On this day, they discussed the Plan of Accompaniment for Youth Vocation Ministry (PJV) and the Guidelines for SSCC Education.

Monica Jimenez was in charge of the moderation and Zenobia Gamarra of the secretarial service. Monica invited to live a moment of prayer, which was animated by the Latin America Zone, and asked the different groups to share the reactions and suggestions previously discussed.

The Plan of PJV was highly valued, it was appreciated that it is a common document for the whole Congregation, that it is processual, open, inclusive, and the team was thanked for its elaboration. Among other aspects, the change of paradigm was emphasized, which implies living a pastoral of processes, taking into account the vital moment in which the young person finds himself, and accompanying him in the process of human maturation and his Christian vocation. One of the challenges is to deepen the Plan, to study it in order to have a better understanding of what is intended at each stage and facilitate its implementation. With some adjustments, it will be presented at the General Chapter.

Regarding the Document Guidelines for SSCC Education, the sisters thanked the team for its elaboration, they valued the references to spirituality, charism and gospel, that it is a concrete document, easy to understand and viable for the different contexts, with an awareness of the transforming power of Education. The importance of integral human development, where the person is the center, was emphasized. It was considered that it describes what we are and pretend in the educational field. Some suggestions were made, such as expanding what is related to safe environments and communication technologies (Artificial Intelligence). With adjustments in the unification of the text, it will be presented in the General Chapter.

Finally, on Saturday 22, the Hainan Project was presented. Mary McCloskey was the facilitator of this plenary session and Nuria Lobo collaborated with the secretariat. After a brief introduction about the week's experiences and the theme of the day, Mary invited the assembly to enter into a moment of prayer, prepared by the Europe-Africa Zone. Then, Aurora Laguarda made a brief presentation with some images that made historical memory of the journey between the SSCC Congregation and the Sisters of Hainan, along with the challenges.

Following the methodology of the Session, the different groups shared their appreciations, recognizing how the Spirit is at work and making us witnesses of his good work. The impetus of the sisters of the diocesan Congregation and their desire to keep alive the seeds of sscc spirituality in their context was recognized. It was also noted how the witness of our charism can have an impact in each place. The groups thanked the two General Governments for accompanying this request, in which the Spirit will continue to be the protagonist.

With practical information for the General Chapter and gratitude to the sisters for their preparation and active participation in this week, Patricia Villarroel, Superior General, concluded these pre-Chapter sessions.
