A meeting of the General Finance Commission took place at the General House (Via Rivarone) on 15th and 16th April 2016. The participants were Tom MCCLAIN (Jesuits Econome Generale), Manfred KOLLIG (Germany), Eamon AYLWARD, (Ireland-England), and Raja SEBASTIAN (Econome General).
The commission reviewed the 2015 report from the General House. They also looked at ways of addressing the structural deficit of Africa and the importance of developing local philanthropy.
The commission looked at different issues related to the percentage for the contributions. They discussed about brothers being a resource for helping communities develop outside sources of support.
Furthermore, they conversed about the need of initial and ongoing formation in management, balanced budget, and the appropriate allocation of accumulated assets in the Congregation, etc.
