On Monday October 3, 2016, the International Community at Louvain (ICL) officially closed. All the brothers and sisters living in Louvain accompanied the community. Camille Sapu sscc presided at the Eucharist to bring the project, in prayer and as children of the Sacred Hearts, to a close.
Since the day’s gospel spoke of the Good Samaritan, Christ was giving us a good example of what could be our future, the example which our brother Damien followed in serving the poorest of the poor.
At the end of the Mass the celebrant thanked each brother and each sister for their availability in helping the members of ICL. In turn, they expressed their joy in having lived together for these two years. Each member of the community received a gift of tapestry of Damien, a sign that he is accompanying us wherever we are to be a friend of the most in need.
On Tuesday October 4, our two brothers José Luis Pérez and Golak Poricha took flights to their respective countries: Spain and India. Goodbye to the ICL. But long live Damien de Veuster. Inspire us forever to be friends of the poor !
