On the morning of Saturday, June 10, Oscar Casanova sscc made his perpetual profession at the Eucharist celebrated in the parish of the Annunciation, Santiago.
In addition to Oscar’s family, who had come from La Unión, not only were brothers from the province of Chile present but also from other provinces. There were laity from each of the places where Oscar has served in Chile.
In his homily, the Provincial Superior, Alex Vigueras sscc, reminded Oscar that "seized by God, a discipleship like this is possible for you. The promise of God is forever, he never disregards his promise to accompany the little ones. "
At the end of his profession of perpetual vows, Oscar named with gratitude one by one the places where he has lived: La Unión (his family and friends), Cerrillos de Curacaví (novitiate), and where he has served pastorally : San Damiano de Molokai parish, CPJ Annunciation, SSCC College Manquehue, Chiapas in Mexico. Then, he mentioned the Philippines (preparation for perpetual vows), and finally the parish of San Pedro and San Pablo where he now lives.
In closing his remarks, Oscar thanked everyone who has shown that it is possible to walk in the way of Jesus. "I would like this celebration to be a celebration of every step that each of us takes. For me this is a gesture of faith, it is my way of saying "I believe, but help me to believe more, I believe that you are a fount of life, of abundant life, and I want to continue living this life in abundance".
After the Eucharist, everyone participated in a fraternal sharing with Oscar and his family in the parish center.
