The preparation of the next General Chapters to be held in Rome, from August 28 to September 28, continues.
The General Governments of the brothers and sisters have been working in the past days in the preparation of their respective Chapters. From May 7 to 9 the two Governments will meet in Assisi to advance in the joint preparation of the Chapters, especially the topics that will be discussed in the joint sessions.
The Government of the sisters has already sent the Letter of Convocation to the Chapter on July 9, 2017. Soon a letter will be sent with the list of capitulants and some information for the Chapter. In these days, the General Government has met in Torricela in Sabina to finish the Government's Report to the 36th General Chapter. For their part, the different commissions and zonal governments are working on their respective reports / evaluations that will be submitted to said Chapter. The third part of the Apostolic Plan of the Congregation, which is one of the documents to be worked on in the Chapter, is being worked on throughout the Congregation. It is expected that by the end of May all the reports will be finished and the translation will be able to begin, to be sent to the Chapter sisters.
For his part, the Superior General of the brothers sent the Letter of convocation of the Chapter on April 15, 2018, with the list of capitulars and support staff during the Chapter. The Government is already very advanced in the work of preparing its Report to the Chapter, which also includes elements of the Evaluation of the implementation of the General Chapter of 2012. Another task that is being carried out by the Government these days is to process the answers to the "2nd Questionnaire" (Evangelii Gaudium) to prepare the topics that will be addressed in the Chapter. This will be the great task for the next government sessions.
