A visit to a Leprosy Center (India)

Radhelal Jatwar sscc and Alexis Nayak sscc have just visited the leprosy (Hansens Disease) colonies of Gandhi Palli and Nehru Palli in Cuttack (India). They have engaged with the community leaders of these two  colonies. They have also met with the president of the Orissa Leprosy Colony Association. During their visit they talked with the people in charge of the Aymer Weaving Center. It has been a good effort and commitment to interact and listen to the leaders of the colonies in relation to the report "Leprosy is returning to India". Vigilance is being called for to detect possible new cases of this disease in the colonies. Gandhi Palli and Nehru Palli are the two major housing and rehabilitation projects initiated by Fr. William Petrie sscc in the seventies.  He was  inspired by the figure of St Damien of Molokai.
