At our last Council meeting, which was held on December 4, 2018 via video-conference, one of our discussions centered around the General Chapter documents and how we as a Province will review and implement them. To that end, the council has charged the Ongoing Formation Commission with the task of mapping out a way for the members of the Province to systematically read and study the five major documents that were generated by the General Chapter with the goal of being able to own the ideals of the documents and apply them in a practical way. Hopefully by the beginning of 2019, the commission, which is made up of Frs. Santhosh Thottankara, chair, Ed Popish, and Columban Crotty, will present a curriculum by which the Area Communities will be able to read and study the documents together. You may look forward to a calendar listing the General Chapter documents and discussion questions that will help each of us understand and examine the elements contained in them and we thank the Ongoing Formation Commission for taking on this most important challenge.
