The first meeting of the newly constituted Commission for Spiritual and Historical Patrimony took place on Wednesday, 9th October in the Generalate of the brothers. The commission consists of the following members: the Postulator, the Archivist, the General Secretaries of the two branches and one member of the General Government (brothers). Patricia Villarroel and Alberto Toutin were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting we reviewed the Chapter 2018 document on patrimony and the directions that it gave. We see a clear connection between this service and the spiritual and missionary animation of the Congregation, all the time keeping in mind mission.
In this moment of service there is a lot of good things going on in the Church and the Congregation: Pope Francis who resonates with us, the positio regarding our Founders which will provide us with more written material on them, the forthcoming 150th celebration of the martyrs of the Paris Commun that will undoubtedly generate more reading material.
Having set the scene and identified some of the tasks ahead of us, we will meet again on Tuesday, 10th December at 3.30pm at the Sisters Generalate.
