Some indigenous sisters and brothers who live in the Amazon travelled to Rome together with a group of laity and religious who work with them in the jungles of Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru...to support the Synod of Bishops which is taking place in the Vatican and together with some activities, to make their problems more visible.
Throughout this week, in the Church of La Traspontina, there was a prayer for the martyrs of Latin America. On Saturday night (on the day of Our Lady of Aparecida), after a penitential celebration, they went out in procession to St. Peter's Square, with songs and lighted candles. The sisters of the community of Via Aurelia joined in their celebrations and have been participating especially in the choir.
