John Sawchenko sscc made his perpetual profession in the Church and School of St. Patrick in Honolulu (Hawaii), into the hands of the United States Provincial Superior, Herman Gomes. He tells us what this step has meant in his life:
“I am Brother John Sawchenko and I recently made my perpetual vows on 10 January, 2020. I have spent the last year working in the Church and in the School of St. Patrick in Hawaii for my pastoral year of studies at the Seminary. The year has been full of many blessings, challenges and new experiences and insights.
I was especially blessed by our SSCC community, the students and parishioners of St. Patrick, as well as by my mother who flew from California, who came to support me in the mass of my perpetual profession. The singing and presence of the students was a great blessing. In making this vow of poverty, chastity and obedience as a final commitment, I feel that Jesus is calling me to offer more of my own heart to him, to be open to Him; to belong to him more and to discover him more in everything I do. ”
