Over 80 young people from 12 SSCC communities took part in the 2025 Youth Congress, held from August 8 to 11, where they discussed five main themes, including mental health, self-care, and faith in community. Youth spokespersons and SSCC brothers led the discernment sessions, fostering listening and joint work. At the closing ceremony, Provincial Superior Sandro Mancilla sscc called to “renew with will the path to feel the Lord Jesus.”
The gathering was marked by a fraternal atmosphere, with rotating group dynamics that allowed everyone to participate in the different thematic tables. Testimonies such as that of Katiuska, from Diego de Almagro, highlighted the importance of addressing mental health, while Cristian Opitz and Violeta Castro emphasized the value of strengthening the youth voice and self-care. As a token of gratitude, the spokespersons received a cross in recognition of their commitment.
The reflections and proposals collected will be compiled by the Youth Pastoral Commission together with the five spokespersons, to be presented at the XXI Provincial Chapter of the SSCC brothers, which will be held from September 1 to 5. More than just an event, the Congress was experienced as a milestone reinforcing the conviction of walking together, placing the voice of young people at the center, and committing to building a close, participatory, and inclusive Church.
