Soledad Molina ss.cc., the new Provincial Superior of the Chile-Paraguay Province, visited the communities of the Congregation in Paraguay, accompanied by Sister Irene Arias ss.cc., who recently completed her service as Coordinator of the Chile-Paraguay Territory.
These days were marked by fraternal encounters with educational communities, sisters, lay people, and mission teams, and were experienced as a true time of grace.
A day was also prepared with great affection at the Sagrados Corazones de Jesús y de María Educational Centre in Asunción, where Sister Irene was bid farewell with gratitude and Sister Soledad was welcomed, who generously and willingly takes on this new service as Provincial Superior.
The activity, led by Sister Yolanda Aguilar ss.cc., included prayer, songs, words of gratitude and a fraternal toast, all in an atmosphere of community and hope. Both sisters shared words with those present, as well as their experience and commitment: Irene highlighted the experience of the charism in the educational community and Soledad expressed her desire to form the little ones in peace in order to transform the world from there.
The visit continued at the SS.CC. Educational Centre in Presidente Franco. The sisters participated in a meeting with the management team and representatives of the pastoral, psychology and technical-pedagogical departments. They shared the institutional outlook, current challenges and an improvement plan focused on integral formation and inclusion.
They also visited the school support centre, a free project run by volunteers who accompany children with learning difficulties. Later, they shared a space with members of the SS.CC. Secular Branch, where they presented their journey as lay people in the charism of the Sacred Hearts.
Sister Paola Reyes ss.cc., who accompanied them on their visits, highlighted the atmosphere of simplicity and family spirit: "The community of Presidente Franco has warmly welcomed our sisters Irene and Soledad. We have shared life with fraternity and spontaneity. We visited each of the works, and the members of the educational community expressed their gratitude for Irene's accompaniment and warmly welcomed Sister Soledad, who with her simplicity thanked them for the work they do and valued their commitment to the charism. During these days, we feel God's presence through our sisters, who with their wise and serene journey encourage us all to move forward."
The sisters were able to visit the Padre Damián Spirituality Centre in Ciudad del Este. There they learned about the concerns and pastoral projects that Sister Celsa Medina ss.cc. shared with them, valuing this presence as a place of profound spiritual richness for the Province.
A new time to walk together
The transition from Territory to Province is a mandate of the 2024 General Chapter, which has been taking shape in all the countries where the Congregation is present. This visit therefore symbolises the transition to another stage in which we continue to build community, strengthen bonds and trust in the loving arms of Jesus and Mary.
Paraguay remains grateful for the service of Sister Irene Arias ss.cc. during these years of generous dedication, and accompanies Sister Soledad Molina ss.cc. with prayer and affection in this new time.
