The VIII Latin American Encounter of the Secular Branch (ELARS) was held in Asunción-Paraguay, from 17-21 April, involving the participation of 53 brothers and sisters from the Secular Branch, from 6 countries in Latin America: Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru. Participation has been open to all its members for some years.
The motto was: "Latin American Encounter Secular Branch SS.CC. in the light of the Holy Spirit". Along with celebrating together some of the days of Holy Week, there were dynamics of integration and co-living plus themes for reflection: "SS.CC. lay spirituality in the world of the family and its protagonists" and "Environment, care of the common home" Everything was organized by the laity of the participating countries.
The Eucharist of the Easter Vigil, was celebrated with the parish community of El Bañado Sur, where our sisters live. It was a tremendous experience and everyone was very impressed, and very happy to meet the Risen Christ in the midst of that reality.
