Fr. Mike Kelly and Fr. Matthias Shanley were ordained priests 60 years ago today June 13th on the feast of St. Anthony of Padua at the Cootehill Seminary in Cootehill, Ireland which was established as a training centre for the U.S. Province in 1948. Fr. MIke and Fr. Matthias were educated at the SS.CC. seminary in Jaffrey, NH which served first as our provincial minor seminary and later became major seminary. Jaffrey was our place of seminary education from Sept. 1954 to 1969.
Fr. Mike has served as a missionary priest in the Bahamas, Ohio, and Molokai. Fr. Mathias has served in South America (principally Ecuador) and S. Texas.
