From 26th to 29th March, a meeting of the General Governments of sscc brothers and sisters took place in the Benedictine Monastery of San Pablo in the Desert, in Santa Agata sui due Golfi (Naples), a beautiful natural enclave. It was here that we celebrated, along with the Benedictine nuns, the feast of the Good Father. The Superiors General, Patricia Villarroel and Alberto Toutin, led these days, during which we reflected on the foundations of the unity of the Congregation, with themes dear to the Founders such as “The Love of God is not loved", the “four ages of Jesus” and our religious family as a "Work of God". In particular we studied and reflected on a particular writing of the Good Father: "memo on the title of Zealots", relating this to current texts of the Magisterium. In the end, having in mind the ‘Plan of Pastoral and Missionary Renewal’ that came out of the General Chapters we came up with a number of initiatives, accents and actions that we hope to develop more in due time. On two nights we watched two films: "Roma" (a film based in Mexico that is a reflection on what constitutes a family) and “Selma" (the story and cost of a further step on the road to freedom taken by a community who strove to win voting rights for black Americans in Alabama. On 29th March, after celebrating Mass, and before heading back to Rome, we took a drive along the Amalfi coast.
