Youth pilgrimage to some of the historical places of the Congregation (Poland)

On 27th July 15 young people from the Polish Youth Group started out on a pilgrimage to France to follow in the footsteps of the founders of the Congregation of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.  Fathers Wojciech Bartnicki and Wojciech Kotowski (Provincial) SSCC took part in the trip. The goal of the pilgrimage was to learn about the charism of the Congregation. They spent the first night with their confreres in Germany.  After this they went to Mass at the tomb of St. Damian de Veuster in Belgium. The next days they lodged in Paris, in the Picpus convent, where they learned about the life of the Founders and the history of the Congregation.

Each day began and ended with a joint breviary prayer, and during the day they participated in the Mass. There was also time for fun and rest, e.g. putting on a cabaret or a trip to an amusement park. In the days following they camped beside the Chateau of La Motte close to where Peter Coudrin had been hiding in a granary. On Friday, a very important part of the Charism was experienced, i.e. a commitment to night adoration.  On one of the days there was time to rest by the sea. The group also visited Sister Elzbieta in Poitiers. The young people returned home with new strength and full of joy and God’s  spirit and the priests who accompanied them returned to Poland full of admiration for the young people and their energy.
