Five young men profess temporary vows in the Congregation (USA)

Five young men from Fiji, Tonga, and the islands of Wallis and Futuna made their profession of temporary vows in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary during the evening Mass celebrated at Holy Name of Mary Parish in San Dimas, California, Archdiocese of Los Angeles, on January 31.

The vows were received by the Provincial Superior of the United States, Fr. Lane Akiona sscc. Among the new professed are two Fijians, Iowani Tuiviani and Antonio Damuni Masilekaleka; one young man from Wallis and Futuna, Mathieu Vaitulukina; and two Tongans, Mark Makasini and Patelesio To’oa.

The celebration was attended by a large number of family members and members of Fijian Catholic communities from San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and Los Angeles. After the ceremony, it was announced that the five young men will soon return to Fiji to continue their philosophy studies at the Pacific Regional Seminary.
