The Ireland-England Province hosted its first Provincial Zoom Conference on Tuesday morning. This meeting was significant as the planned provincial assembly in Ireland in June of this year had to be cancelled on account of Coronavirus.
All the communities took part. The only brother not present was Kieran Murtagh who, at this time, is in a nursing home. There was an opportunity for each community to share a little on their experience of living through the pandemic. It was also an opportunity to remember, give thanks and pray for the soul of Fr. Andy Wafer who died on 1st March, 2020. Derek Laverty also took part and gave a short input on the impact of COVID 19 on life in the Generalate.
The meeting finished with prayers and thanksgiving for Frs. Fintan Crotty and Kenneth Barnes who this year respectively celebrate 60 years of priesthood and 60 years of profession. Congratulations to them both for such great service to the Congregation and it’s mission.
