A group of volunteers recently gathered near the border in Chula Vista, California, for their third Epiphany mission trip to Tijuana, continuing a tradition that began with the late founder, Fr. Pat Travers sscc.

Although the group was smaller than in previous years, the day was marked by great enthusiasm, shared service, and a strong sense of communion. At the San Juan Diego Chapel in the Esperanza neighborhood, volunteers distributed food, clothing, toys, and other basic necessities to the local community.
The day concluded with a Sunday Mass offered in honor of Fr. Pat and for the fraternity in Christ shared by communities on both sides of the border. Celebrated bilingually, the liturgy emphasized the unity of the Body of Christ beyond geographic boundaries.
Participants returned home grateful for a day filled with encounters, service, and hope, and renewed their commitment to continue this mission of charity and friendship.
