
The Japan Region held its assembly from February 10 to 13, 2026, with the participation of ten brothers serving in the region. The Filipino brothers Jerome Limbo and Shahar Tabaniag (King), who are currently carrying out their pastoral year, were also present.
The Superior General, Alberto Toutin, and the Provincial of the Province of Indonesia, Pankrasius Olak, accompanied the group during the meeting. The first day was marked by a spiritual animation offered by Fr. Toutin in the morning, followed by a time of spiritual conversation in the afternoon. The assembly was facilitated by Fr. Olak.
On the morning of the second day, reports were presented by the Provincial, as well as updates on youth ministry, finances, and the kindergarten. In the afternoon, the election of the regional leadership team took place.
Andrew John Michiaki Chihara was elected Regional Superior; Petrus Ado (Rusni) Belalawe, Vicar; and Franciscus Xaverius Sri Walujo, Councilor. After the vote, the Provincial of Indonesia confirmed the results, and all the brothers congratulated the team entrusted by the assembly with this responsibility.

In the following days, participants will continue working on defining and implementing the priorities for the coming three years, in accordance with the Region’s PARL approved by the General Government.
The final day will include a dialogue with Bishop Paul Taisuke Narui, S.V.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Niigata.
