On 16 June, our Immaculate Conception Parish once again experienced the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. Our small community was richly blessed and spiritually renewed by the presence of His Grace, Archbishop Elias Frank, on the Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time.
The occasion was made even more special as a group of candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We gathered in our parish around 07:45 a.m. to welcome our gracious Archbishop at the front gate with charming welcome songs, heartfelt greetings, and beautiful flower garlands. The atmosphere of the parish was filled with joy and reverence.
The Confirmation candidates then entered, dressed in white and carrying candles, adding to the beauty and solemnity of the occasion.
The Holy Mass was then celebrated by our gracious and honourable Archbishop Elias Frank. After the Scripture readings, the Archbishop delivered a beautiful homily. He taught us the liturgical importance and reverence of the altar and the sacred readings. He also beautifully explained the virtues of piety and the fear of the Lord. Reflecting on the Gospel of the day, he encouraged the faithful to become true preachers and living witnesses of the Gospel. He further reinforced the importance of the Word of God and invited everyone to deepen their relationship with Christ, remain steadfast in faith, and actively participate in the mission of the Church.
A significant part of the celebration was the Sacrament of Confirmation, during which the Archbishop administered the sacrament to 21 candidates. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, they were strengthened to live their Christian vocation with courage and commitment.
The Archbishop then celebrated the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life.
After the Holy Mass, a short felicitation programme was held to express the parish community's gratitude for the Archbishop's visit. The parish honoured him with a flower bouquet and a small gift as the token of our love. Holy Bibles were distributed to the Confirmation candidates, and the catechists were also honoured for their faithful service to the Church.
The celebration concluded with the Archbishop's blessings, followed by tea and a light breakfast, fostering fellowship and unity among the faithful. His second visit brought joy, spiritual renewal, and encouragement to the entire community.
May God continue to bless His Grace Archbishop Elias Frank, our Parish Priest, catechists, Confirmation candidates, and all the faithful, so that together we may grow in faith, hope, and love.
