Our last formal canonical visit before returning to Belo Horizonte was scheduled for São Paolo, to the parish of St. Emidio which has been staffed by our SSCC brothers since 1939. When we arrived On Monday, 11th November we discovered that Fr. Mario Smolders, sscc was in hospital. Frs. Paulo DEKKER and João Henrique MATTOS were there to meet us. Our visit gave us an opportunity to go to the hospital to see Mario and later meet with Paulo and João. In the evening we had time with the pastoral leaders of the parish after celebrating mass in the parish. On our drive to Belo Horizonte we had the opportunity to visit the National Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida and spend a night at Pindamonhangaba, a former sscc formation house that was recently converted into a centre of spirituality. It was here that we met with some members of the Secular Branch and reflect on the final report that we will be giving to the Province on Friday, 15 November.
