At the Postulancy Dom Luiz Mancilha Vilela sscc (Brazil)

On May 18, arriving from Paraguay, Alberto Toutin sscc and Fernando Cordero sscc began their visit to the SSCC community of the Postulancy Dom Luiz Mancilha Vilela sscc, in the city of Pindamonhangaba, until May 20. The Superior General presided over the community Eucharist, where he emphasized that it "makes us brothers."

Afterward, they attended a lay formation meeting at the Parish of Our Lady of Graces, centered on ecclesial communion, within the formation plan of the Diocese of Taubaté.

Pindamonhangaba is a family home with history, since we first arrived in 1954. A formation house, an apostolic community at the service of the local area and today of the Parish of Our Lady of Graces. It is also a house where we gratefully remember those who preceded us and now rest in the cemetery. We count on their intercession. It is a family home to which we return with joy, because we feel welcomed. And we are on the pilgrimage route to the Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida, which reminds us of our condition as children of Mary and as pilgrims walking alongside the People of God.

We are glad to see a house with brothers of different generations and different countries, who accompany our younger brothers. The entire community is a formative community. They have a fundamental mission in laying the foundations of a unified formation, through regular teamwork among the formators.

In addition to meetings with each brother, with the whole community, and with the professed, the visitors celebrated the Eucharist together with the community brothers at the rural chapel of Our Lady of Graces, and also at the Chapel of Saint Joseph.

They also held a meeting with young people from the Parish, where they shared how to pass on the treasure of living faith in the Lord Jesus as evangelizers of other young people.

On the afternoon of May 21, there will be a meeting with the Initial Formation Commission.

On Friday, May 22, the closing Assembly of the canonical visit will take place throughout the day.
