Following the canonical visit in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Region, from 8 to 10 April we had the joy of sharing in the life and mission of the Regional Community, comprising our sisters Therese Kabina, Regional Superior; Viviane Musungu, Regional Administrator; Jolie Kwengani, Community Superior; and Catherine Makolo (VT).
The community’s main mission is to welcome all the sisters in the region and to support those involved in the region’s leadership, as well as the administration of the Padre Damián Centre, which comprises the Sagrados Corazones School in Masina-Kinshasa, literacy programmes, physiotherapy, and sewing workshops. They serve around 1,800 students.
During our stay, we were welcomed with great sisterly warmth by our sisters, who received us from the very first moment with generosity and kindness. The experience has been a true space of communion, strengthening our bonds and renewing our commitment to the Sacred Hearts mission that unites us.
