Father José Rodríguez has just been honoured for his 50 years as chaplain of the Spanish Hospital in Mexico City. During the five decades he has celebrated 28,169 baptisms and 600 first communions. Recently the auxiliary bishop of Mexico, Carlos Samaniego, visited the Hospital and congratulated Fr. José.
Fr. José, for his part, said, "Of those I baptize now, I have also baptized their father or the godfather; and if not, then I married them. Fifty years have passed, and I hope to God that I have done them some good".
