On June 24, feast of the Heart of Jesus, the communities of brothers and sisters of Rome gathered at the General House in Via Rivarone for the celebration of the Eucharist and a family meal.
During the Eucharist, presided over by Alberto Toutin, Superior General, Alberto highlighted how one of the characteristics of the pastoral Heart of Jesus is to love people where they are, going out to meet them, even to the point of becoming vulnerable to the conditions of violence in which they live.
Giving of ourselves and loving people where they are is the best way to allow the heart of Jesus to love through us. We think of the Christian communities living in a context of violence in Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Myanmar and so many other places.
Help us, Heart of Jesus, to be witnesses of your love wherever we are.
