On September 24, 2022, Brother Paulo Lui Voreqe made his perpetual profession at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Harlingen (USA). He is originally from Tonga and is doing his pastoral experience in this parish. His family followed the celebration online. He was accompanied by the SSCC Brothers Ajith Baliar, Manoj Nayak and William Gural from Edinburg, Bob Charlton sscc, pastor of this parish, Jeremiah Holland sscc from the novitiate community in Hemet (California) and Eric Cruz sscc, deacon at Holy Name of Mary parish in San Dimas (California). Sisters of the Daughters of Charity and many parishioners from Harlingen and Edinburg also participated.
The Bishop of Brownsville, Monsignor Daniel Flores, presided at the Eucharist. Alberto Toutin sscc received his vows. Alberto invited Lui to become more and more united to Jesus and to the brothers and sisters with whom he walks. And that he bases his "forever" on the love that God has always and forever for him. This love has come through his family, the SSCC brothers and the Christian communities. Alberto reminded Lui not to forget to count on the prayers and affection of his extended community, now and in times of difficulty. The bishop, for his part, invited the SSCC brothers to continue to cultivate hospitality and their international family spirit, which is a richness for the life of the diocese.
