Finances and the economy - Enlarged General Council

On Thursday, 16 June, the feast day of St. John Francis Regis, Nacho Moreno, the Econome General, gave a presentation on Financed and Economy. In his presentation he addressed the following points:

- Difficulties in receiving information.

- Improving information and ways of accounting.

- Sharing investments.

- Investments: guidelines and limits.

For the subsequent group work, Nacho proposed these points on finances and the economy with two questions.

- The Provinces, Regions and Delegations should send in their financial reports by the end of March.

- The General Econome will make follow-up visits re the finances - in agreement with the Provincials and Superiors, as well as those who may request such when needed.

- The General Government will discuss the finances in canonical visits, chapters and assemblies.

- The General Econome will give feedback on the end of the year reports to the Superiors, as well as feedback on the investments in the common models.

These are the two questions for group work:

1. What do you see as a priority?

2. What further steps can we take?

Each group shared 2 priority areas and some concrete steps for their implementation, continuing along the lines of making progress on the preceding points.

We finished the meeting with a prayer as we approached the feast of Corpus Christi.
