The provincial assembly of Mexico was held from January 11-15, 2016 Tetelcingo (Morelos) in the house of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Therese. Fifteen brothers and Alberto Toutin (general government) participated. The theme for this meeting was lifelong learning: The discipline of interiority, formation of habits.
Psychologist Guadalupe Martinez directed the meeting. Also, In his report to the province , the provincial Nurmy Garcia highlighted among other things the new presence in the community of San Pedro de Andrade in Coayuca (Puebla) and strengthening the apostolic presence in Guadalajara.
In the last visitation, along with the good quality of the dialogue with the brothers, the provincial found some fragilities: community prayer, individual adoration, community meetings. Alberto Toutin, sharing information on some processes underway in the Congregation and recalling the lines of animation of the General Government, invited the brothers to go to the margins, practice mercy with each other and revitalize the reparative adoration for the suffering.
Currently the province of Mexico has 20 brothers, 4 of whom are abroad for studies of initial formation (2) or completing continuing education studies (2).
During the days of the meeting, January 14, Alejandro Dzul, pastor of St. Peter in Coayuca de Andrade, accompanied Marco Antonio Garcia and Alberto Toutin to visit this new community. The Congregation is present there since March 2015. It is located about 220 kilometers from the city of Mexico, in the state of Puebla. It is a rural parish that has more than 23 communities, some difficult to access and about 3500 inhabitants. The community suffers the exodus of young people leaving the area to continue their studies or finding new job prospects.
