From September 1 to 5, the brothers of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of the Chile-Argentina Province gathered in Santiago de Chile to celebrate the XXI Provincial Chapter. It was a privileged time for encounter, reflection, and communal discernment.
The Chapter began with an invitation to look attentively at those who suffer most and to let ourselves be challenged by the Gospel. On the second day, the reflection focused on Francis and the poor, presented by Sergio Silva sscc, encouraging the capitulants to ask themselves with hope:
-
What do we need to awaken to?
-
What do we need to bring back to life?
Throughout these days, the brothers delved into the challenges of mission and consecrated life, revised the provincial statutes, and reflected on the new face of the poor, all in the light of the Gospel and in fidelity to the SSCC charism.
The Provincial Superior, Sandro Mancilla sscc, in his opening letter, thanked the sisters and lay people who accompanied this process, highlighting their contribution to enriching the discernment with new perspectives.
This Provincial Chapter has been a true exercise of listening, communion, and openness to the Spirit, with the desire to renew the life and mission of our Province. On Friday, September 5, the sessions concluded with the certainty that the decisions made respond to the common good and the service of God’s people.
The brothers ask for prayers so that what has been experienced these days may bear fruit in the mission and strengthen their journey together.
