Friday August 5, in a six p.m. ceremony, Álex Brian CRUZ CARREÓN sscc, was ordained a presbyter at the SSCC church of the Recoleta, and Franklin ASTORGA YUJRA sscc was ordained a deacon through the imposition of hands by Bishop Raúl Antonio CHAU QUISPE.
The brothers of the SSCC province of Peru, the vice-provincial of Columbia, Fr. Arley Guarín sscc. concelebrated the Eucharist. Brother Isaac Moreno sscc (Columbian brother, fellow student), Sisters of the Perú-Brasil-México Province , parents and families of the ordained, laity of the Congregation , fellow students, and persons in pastoral service in the parishes where the ordained had worked and still do, in teaching religion and in other activities.
The ceremony went well in an agreeably familiar setting, much enlivened by the choir and the participation of those present. After the ceremony, all the guests, as is the custom, went to the community’s garden for a tribute to the newly ordained, toasts to honor them, and to taste the hors d’oeuvre, followed by the meal offered by the brothers of the province.
Our best wishes for the new journey, as a faithful response to the call of the Lord on which our brothers, Brian y Franklin, have embarked. Congratulations!
