On Sunday 03 July 2022, the SSCC province of Indonesia celebrated the renewal of the religious vows of eighteen of their brothers. The renewal of vows took place in the chapel of the SSCC scholastic community of Griya Tyas Dalem Yogyakarta during the celebration of the Eucharist, that was led by Fr. Pankrasius Olak Kraeng sscc, provincial of the Province of Indonesia. Fr. Pankras was accompanied by Fr. Yosep Rianghepat, sscc, rector of the SSCC Scholasticate and Frs. Oskar and Sipri sscc.
Four of the eighteen brothers above, received their minor orders, acolyte and lector, anticipating their future pastoral service. Those four brother are, Br. James sscc Br. Randy sscc Br. Titus sscc and Br. Anes sscc.
Before the brothers renewed their religious vows, they had a six day retreat, accompanied by Frs. Oskar sscc and Yosep sscc.
The readings for the Sunday celebration were Isaiah 66:10-14, Galatians 6:14-18 and Luke 10:1-12,17-20. Fr. Provincial, in his homily, affirmed how these eighteen brothers who have just renewed their vows are counted among the 70 disciples sent by Jesus to go forth to proclaim the Kingdom of God in the midst of the world - like lambs among wolves. They are challenged to bring peace to a world plagued by distrust of God and also the worsening influence of technology. The peace they have in themselves comes from Jesus in the eucharist and adoration, as well as their personal encounters with Jesus. In this way, the eighteen brothers were asked to continue to build up their intimate relationship with Jesus, in order to draw peace from Jesus Himself so as to proclaim it to the world.
The renewal of vows ceremony ended with a meal at which SSCC sisters, members of the secular branch, SSCC Youth and also some other people were present. The celebrations concluded with time for recreation together.
