“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord”
Luke
On Monday, July 2nd at 0.30 hours, our sister Teresa Jesús Josefina CALZADILLA Carvajal went to her eternal home.
Josefina was born on the 26th August, 1917 in Pucará, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She entered the Congregation in La Paz, and began her postulancy on the 8th September, 1940. She began her novitiate on the 31st August, 1980 in La Paz, and made her final vows on the 15th February, 1981.
During her first years in the Congregation she was seamstress and doorkeeper in the Sacred Hearts School in La Paz, where she was loved greatly by both the parents and pupils.
In 1980 she was a member of the flying mission in Laja, in the Bolivian altiplano caring for children.
From 1988 she was sacristan in the parish of Señor de la Exaltación in Obrajes, spending the morning in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament and working in the Parish.
Twice a week she went to “Hogar Villegas”, a home for children who were orphaned and ready adoption. She fulfilled this task with great responsibility and was deeply happy to be with the children.
Our sister Josefina was a simple woman, welcoming and attentive to the needs of the sisters, smiling, which expressed the love she had for the sisters near her.
After a long illness, our sister Josefina left this world with great peace.
We ask your prayers that the Lord will give her peace and eternal rest, so that she can contemplate his face. We are consoled in knowing that she is with the Lord.
