Dear Sisters:
On the evening of October 12 our sister Felicidad García Lamsfus passed away. Although her health was delicate, she led a very normal life in community and we never imagined that her departure from among us was so close. She returned to the Father's house when the congregation was celebrating the canonization of our brother Damien, "St. Damien". How must their meeting have been within the Heart of God?
Felicidad was born in Torres (Torrelavega) on March 25 1935. A student of our school at Torrelavega, she entered the Congregation in January 1956. She made her novitiate in Madrid (Paraíso) where she made her temporary vows on February 2 1958. Five years later, in February 1963, she made her perpetual profession in Picpus (Paris).
Having completed her studies in education, she devoted a long time to teaching in our houses in Madrid (Paraíso), Torrelavega, Barcelona, Henriette Aymer (Madrid). She also spent some years in Jerez as the person responsible for the library of the Teacher Training College.
She returned to Torrelavega where she worked as administrator of the community while taking ca re of her mother who was ill for many years.
In 2004 she came to our community of El Escorial where she was doorkeeper of the Residence. She also devoted many hours to making jewelry with the illusion that they could be sold to support our missions.
Of a quiet and calm temperament, loving a job well done, she liked to go unnoticed, She was very responsible for everything that was entrusted to her and very loyal to her hours of adoration which she loved dearly.
We are confident that Felicidad has been received by the infinite love of God our Father. However, we commend her to your prayers so that, purified of all stain, she can enjoy as soon as possible the light, joy and peace that does not end.
In the name of this community in El Escorial we greet you and remain united in love and service of the Sacred Hearts.
María Paloma Aguirre, ss.cc.
