† Sr. María Dolores REMON sscc (Chile)

At dawn on Thursday 5 November, the Lord called to his side to our sister Maria Dolores to celebrate with him her 88 years of life.

MARIA DOLORES REMON ALMAZAN, (called for many years SACRAMENTO) was born on November 5, 1921 in the city of Jaen in Andalusia, Spain. She belonged to a very Christian and religious family, she was the penultimate of 12 children, of which 5 were religious, 4 in our Sacred Hearts Congregation and one a Religious Escolapia.

On December 30, 1940 she entered the SS.CC. and on January 24, 1943 she made her religious profession in Picpus.

On May 28th 1950 she went to Bolivia for the healing of a lung disease that afflicted her. Two sisters, Remon, Theresa, stayed in Peru and she remained in Las Paz, Bolivia.

And on February 25, 1957 she went to Chile, where she lived until now, her first community was in Viña del Mar where she worked in the education of the younger girls in the Sacred Hearts school.

On February 25, 1963 she was asked to found the community of San Javier in the southern part of the country, to open a new school in the former “Hogar la Hormiga” (Ant Home). Years of effort and search for collaboration resulted in what is today the Sacred Hearts Secondary school in San Javier.

On January 6 1974, she came with a whole missionary dimension to the Vith Region CHRISTMAS commune, where she gave all her energy and heart to the service of the Mission acting as "pastor". She always kept beautiful memories of this her beloved rural area.

In 1995 she went to Viña del Mar, to take charge of the House of Prayer.

And in the year 2005 she came to the community of Santa Ines. The past year had affected their health.

We commend her to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, having fulfilled what she undoubtedly repeated many times in her life "in whose service I wish to live and die."
