Brother Charles Mahealani Ka'ahanui, ss.cc., 73 years,, died in Wailuku on Maui on July 27, 2016 from injuries sustained in a tragic accident. Born to William Ka'ahanui and Margaret Wong on February 18, 1943, he entered the novitiate in 1968 and he was professed on January 27, 1970 in Wareham, MA (U.S.A.). He made his perpetual profession to the Congregation on January 27, 1970 and served his community in missions on Maui, Oahu and most recently on Molokai. Brother Charlie is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as his Brothers in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts.
A Celebration of Life for our Brother will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1124 7th Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816. Visitation will take place for family and friends from 9:30 to 11:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brother Charlie’s name to Sacred Hearts Missions, P.O. Box 1365, Kaneohe, HI 96744. Rest in Peace Brother Charlie, ss.cc.
